Previous BBC Consultants Undergo MPs' Grilling After Claims of Bias in Leaked Memo

Former BBC consultants speaking in front of parliamentary committee

We open with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who chairs the group.

She initiates by giving background to the unauthorized memorandum written by Michael Prescott and printed in a daily publication.

"I don't want the BBC tilting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it balanced, fair and equitable," he states.

Upon being questioned if he believes the BBC is systematically partial, he replies: "No, I do not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the BBC produces is top-tier - encompassing factual and non-factual shows."

However, he continues: "There remains real work that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

A further previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation adviser examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, states she views the BBC very seriously and that it maintains a "ongoing system and active debate" across fluid and multifaceted issues.

"Whether the BBC was willing to have a thorough dialogue and argument and act accordingly?" she reflects. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
