Manchester United Poised to Secure German Forward Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are finalising sealing the deal for prolific German forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from Bayern Munich.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
The forward, with half a year remaining on her contract, has been a prolific goalscorer for both club and country. She has netted over 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing is viewed as a major coup for the WSL team.
Her exit from Bayern has been anticipated after she appeared to be holding back emotions while thanking the German club’s supporters after a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading strikers. Per reports, the formalities for the move are now finalised.
Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen United's Attack
The experienced striker's arrival is expected to provide a significant boost to the team's attacking options. Schüller has been highly reliable in front of goal in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the last term, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.
