Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, but can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
My son advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
