Admittedly, it's Full of Nonsense, Over-the-Top Hospitality and Self-Help Jargon. Yet I Truly Cherish Meghan's Christmas Special.

No considering the season, it's always fair game for criticism on the Meghan Markle's TV show, With Love, Meghan. Critics, from seasoned journalists to online pundits, have hardly ever agreed so completely as when gleefully ripping the series' initial installments to pieces. The common opinion was that a greater royal outrage had seldom occurred than the notorious pretzel re-packaging incident.

Currently, as a festive rebel, she makes a comeback with a new offering with a "Holiday Celebration" (also known as a holiday episode). But this time, it's different. The standard components viewers are accustomed to – vague self-help platitudes, overzealous entertaining – remain, but within the context of a holiday show, suddenly it all makes sense. The elements have slid perfectly; it's a flawless festive blizzard.

By this point, Meghan resembles the eccentric aunt at most festive family gatherings – offering random tips, and delivering the occasional strange exclamation. ("I love spinach!" … "A tradition has to have a beginning." … "A tree is part of my memory and love of the holiday season.") She's a bit of a character, but her aura is known and unexpectedly soothing. And she seems content; she's not doing any harm.

She is aware her each tiny facial movement, utterance and look will be analyzed and criticised, but nonetheless looks carefree and serenely untroubled.

It could be this is the first occasion in history where that clichéd phrase – "Ignore them, they're just jealous" – could actually be true. Since, let's face it, each element in Meghan's Holiday Celebration truly is charming. Admittedly, it's all awkwardly over-the-top, foolishness and flamboyant – but doesn't that represent precisely what Christmas is all about? And the talk she's talking might be laughable, but the example she sets genuinely looks impeccably styled.

Anything she sets her mind to, she accomplishes with panache. Her culinary efforts looks scrumptious, the wreath she creates is breathtaking, her gifts are almost too pretty to open. Nothing is ordinary or visually unappealing – even the way she fastens her kitchen garment is stylish and elegant. She doesn't toss a dish in the oven, it "goes for a spin", and she wraps gift paper like an craft master. She also seems to be thoroughly enjoying herself the entire time. How could any skeptical viewer not be charmed, overcome by festive joy and left with a intense desire for crafted festive snaps or a crudites platter where greens is arranged in the form of a Christmas ring?

Meghan used to pretend for a living, obviously, but despite that, after the level of scrutiny she has faced since she became involved with Prince Harry, even a hypothetical offspring of acting royalty would have difficulty behaving this naturally. Her decision to modify or even tone down her routine, despite it being so relentlessly, globally mocked, is oddly heartening. In our unpredictable world, here is something we can depend on: Meghan will stay true to form, whatever happens. We will consistently know where we are with her.

If you're remaining skeptical of her message, a point that will certainly come as a reassurance: you aren't required to. There isn't the draft in this country, and if there were, it would be improbable to include streaming With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration. If, on the other hand, you choose to watch and are gripped with jealousy about her picture-perfect Christmas, you can take solace either. Be you a royal or a data administrator, hardly any child fully understands the dedication and labor their mum puts in in December. So you can console yourself by picturing her children's faces when they open a beautifully scripted letter that says, 'I love you because you are brave,' from a handcrafted holiday countdown, instead of a sweet treat.
